Terms of Service

Needlework (“Needlework”, “we”, “us”) is a tool that helps crate diggers move between Discogs and YouTube Music through a conversational interface — building playlists from Discogs releases, managing playlists and Liked tracks on YouTube Music, and organising Discogs collection folders and wantlist. By using Needlework at needlework.io you agree to these terms.

Needlework reads metadata from Discogs and, on your explicit request, creates and edits playlists in your YouTube Music account, likes or unlikes tracks there, and writes to your Discogs collection folders and wantlist. It does not host audio. It does not store your music collection — every operation is performed live against the Discogs API and the YouTube Data API. It is a thin layer between the two.

You connect any combination of two accounts depending on what you want to do: a Discogs account (for catalogue lookups and managing your collection folders and wantlist) and a YouTube / Google account (for playlists and Liked videos on YouTube Music). The AI chat is powered by Pollinations and requires a Pollinations API key. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity on your accounts.

You agree not to:

• Use Needlework at industrial scale, automate multiple accounts, or otherwise abuse the rate-limited APIs we depend on (the YouTube Data API quota and the Discogs API rate limits), all of which are shared across our users.
• Use Needlework to scrape, harvest, or republish content or metadata from YouTube or Discogs.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code beyond what is publicly visible in the deployed app.
• Use Needlework in violation of the terms of any connected service, including the YouTube Terms of Service, the Google API Services User Data Policy, or the Discogs API Terms of Use.
• Use Needlework to circumvent geographic restrictions, content licensing, or rights-holder controls on Discogs or YouTube.

We may rate-limit or suspend access if we detect behavior that threatens the service or any of the shared API quotas above.

Needlework is currently free, with limits described on the pricing page. A paid Pro tier may launch in the future. Pricing, features, and limits may change; material changes will be communicated in the app or on the pricing page before they take effect.

Using Needlework necessarily involves YouTube, Google, Discogs, and Pollinations. Their respective terms apply to your use of those services:

• YouTube Terms of Service and Google API Services User Data Policy.
• Discogs API Terms of Use.

Needlework is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google, or Discogs.

Needlework is provided “as is”. Track matches between Discogs releases and YouTube Music are heuristic and not guaranteed to be correct, complete, or available in your region. Third-party APIs can fail, change, or rate-limit us without notice. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific track will be matchable.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Needlework, its operators, and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, which during the free tier is zero.

You can stop using Needlework at any time by disconnecting your accounts (see the sidebar in the app). We may suspend or terminate access at any time for any reason, including violation of these terms or abuse of the shared API quotas we depend on (YouTube or Discogs).

We may update these terms. If changes are material we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of France, except where applicable consumer protection law grants you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
