Why Needlework
Needlework was built because Discogs is where collectors find music and YouTube Music is where they listen to it — and nothing connected the two for the kind of obscure pressings, electronic music, and label deep dives that Discogs is best at.
The generic playlist-transfer tools optimise for the Top 40. That's the wrong shape for crate diggers. You don't want to retype catalog numbers into search boxes. You want to say “build me a playlist of 2024 dub techno on Berceuse Heroique” and have it appear in your library.
That's what Needlework does.

Who's behind it
Needlework is an independent music-software company founded in 2026 by Elliot Fouchy. We build tools for record collectors and DJs — software that treats a crate the way a collector does, not the way a streaming chart does.
Under the hood, Needlework runs a conversational agent on top of a track-resolution pipeline: a Postgres-backed resolver cache across Discogs, MusicBrainz, and YouTube Music, LLM inference for query understanding and track matching, and OAuth integrations with Discogs and Google. The product is live in private beta; the resolver and inference workloads are what we're scaling next.
